Case study

Securing indirect procurement after a carve-out

An autonomous procurement function operational by the target date
airplay

Context and objectives

A specialist in the maintenance and repair of heating and air-conditioning equipment, the company has just been sold by its parent group to a private equity fund. The carve-out means rebuilding the entire supplier base inherited from the former scope.

The exit deadline for the transitional service agreements is approaching: the existing base has to be mapped, contracts signed in the company's own name and business continuity guaranteed, while laying the foundations of an independent indirect procurement function.

Assignment

An experienced procurement consultant works for 3 months full time, with two remote days a week. He maps the inherited contracts, steers the exit from the transitional services with the former parent (scope, costs, deadlines) alongside the finance and legal teams, sources and contracts the new suppliers and secures every critical service for an autonomous start at the target date. In parallel he structures the first processes and the supplier panel of the future procurement function.
